World Malaria day 2025-Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite
The Asia Pacific region presents a complex but not impossible to overcome challenge in the fight against malaria.. As per World Malaria Report,India accounted for approximately half of all estimated cases, with Indonesia following at just under one-third. In the Pacific, Papua New Guinea bore the highest burden, contributing 87.5% of sub-regional cases, while Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and Cambodia were also significant contributors.
By prioritizing equity, strengthening health systems, tailoring interventions, addressing biological and environmental challenges, enhancing surveillance, and fostering strong partnerships, the region can regain momentum and work towards a future where malaria is no longer a threat to health and well-being.
