Global Tuberculosis Report 2024 :Tuberculosis Resurges as Top Infectious Disease Killer and Dapivirine Vagianal Ring
The World Health Organization (WHO) published a new report on tuberculosis revealing that approximately 8.2 million people were newly diagnosed with TB in 2023 – the highest number recorded since WHO began global TB monitoring in 1995. And n 2021, WHO recommended the Dapivirine Vagianal Ring as a safe and effective additional prevention option for women to prevent HIV acquisition during vaginal sex as part of combination prevention approaches.
